The Shire Lawn
On occasions a Lawn may look very much past its use by date and no matter how hard you try to revive it nothing seems to work.
This maybe because of issues with the grass plant, such as disease, grub damage, extreme levels of thatch and compaction or/and huge weed infestation. But the most common reason can be neglect due to other priorities in our busy lives.
We at Shire Lawns are able to give our customers a Lawn you can be proud of, without you having to put any of the hard work in – but only if we believe our usual Tailored Treatments won't be enough.
We call this bespoke Lawn – The Shire Lawn.
What is the Shire Lawn?
Following a consultation with you and an analysis of your Lawn, depending on the Lawns requirements, The Shire Lawn process may consist of the following;
-
Killing off existing Lawn with a Non-Selective Weed Killer – not all Lawns will require this process.
-
Aeration – this will relieve soil compaction and allow clean air, nutrients and water to reach the roots which will improve the health of future growing conditions.
-
Scarification – to remove existing Moss and Thatch.
-
Overseeding – the full Lawn area with a specifically chosen seed from our Local Herefordshire Supplier. Seed selected to suit the targeted Lawn, ie Shade Tolerant, Hard Wearing, Ornamental.
-
Top Dressing – Using a tested Blended Soil/Sand Mix.
-
Lawn Feeds – that can consist of Granular & Liquid.
What happens Next?
Once the above work has been applied, we will return on a minimum 2 separate occasions to not only check on the progress of The Shire Lawn but to apply a Tailored Lawn Treatment to help keep your Lawn in check.
We will also offer Tailored Lawn Care advice for your new Lawn.
These 2 Tailored Treatments will be included in The Shire Lawn price. Following completion of The Shire Lawn we would always recommend adding your Lawn to a Treatment Plan so we can continue to care for it for years to come.
When can Shire Lawns apply The Shire Lawn?
Providing the conditions are right, we recommend applying The Shire Lawn in the Spring or Autumn.
